Travelocity is not able to offer car insurance. Customers can however check their auto insurance policies to determine if the rental car is covered. Many policies cover rental cars as well. If you're unsure if your car insurance policy covers your rental, contact your insurance agent.
Insurance is not available
It is mandatory to have travel insurance when renting a car. However, it doesn’t cover all. Some rental companies charge an additional fee to add insurance or CDW (collision damaged waiver) coverage. You can choose to decline coverage if you don't want to pay this fee. This is not recommended if you plan to rent a car with no credit card. You will be responsible for your own expenses if you are intoxicated or cause an accident.
Sabre purchases Travelocity
Sabre will acquire Travelocity to expand its family. The privately owned company also owns four other business units including Sabre Hospitality Solutions and Sabre Travel Network. With more than 5,000 locations, Travelocity is one the largest names in the rental car industry.
Travelocity, a pioneer of online travel sites, is known for its innovative approach. The company launched in 1996 as a way for travelers to book trips without using a travel agent. They now work together in strategic marketing.
